New Indian restaurant now open
Indian Land welcomed its first Indian restaurant this week. Founded by four friends, the Indian Fusion Grill and Bar features authentic Indian cuisine as well as some fusion dishes.
Super Chix Chicken & Custard is now open in RedStone! The Dallas-based chicken sandwich franchise is owned by Todd Justice of Best Tasting Chix, LLC. He has big plans to open 25 locations in South Carolina within the next 7 years.

Lancaster County School District considering panic buttons, safety upgrades [Terry/WSOC-TV]. Since the summer, the Lancaster County School District has made several safety changes in policy, but now the district wants to invest real money into more safety improvements at every school. Some of the proposals include panic buttons inside classrooms or hallways.
Farm Haus growing footprint with food stall at Rock Hill’s Power House project [Thomas/Charlotte Business Journal]. Plans call for it to dish up it’s locally sourced sausages and a new addition bar pies, from an 800-square-foot space.
No left turns in Ballantyne? Early plans for widening of Johnston Road would only make many intersections right-turn-only [Bolling/The Charlotte Ledger]. NC transportation officials are working on plans to widen Johnston Road in south Charlotte from I-485 to the SC state line, and preliminary designs call for six lanes and a series of “reduced conflict intersections” that allow only right turns onto Johnston Road from streets that intersect it.
Lancaster County Homeless Shelter nearing completion [CN2]. “The perfect storm”, we are not talking about the weather, instead homelessness and how the executive director with United Way of Lancaster County describes the human health issue in their backyard.
Waxhaw selects general contractor for Town Campus development [Union Weekly]. The Town Campus project, located at 4220 Waxhaw-Marvin Road (the intersection of Waxhaw-Marvin Road and Kensington Road), is designed to accommodate the town's operational needs while also planning for future operations and services. The project is expected to be completed in 18 months.
