The Lancaster News sold to Paxton Media Group + New Asian raw bar now open in Ballantyne

The Lancaster News announced last night that it had been sold to Kentucky-based publisher, Paxton Media Group (PMG). See story below. The Lancaster News also publishes the Carolina Gateway, Indian Land’s only newspaper. Over the past decade, more than a third of all newspapers have changed ownership. This will be the first time since The Lancaster News has changed ownership in 32 years.
In other news, over the weekend, Ballantyne got a new Asian raw bar. Prime Fish plans to elevate the level of sushi in Charlotte. I met with the owner Chef Robin Anthony who shared his love of sushi (and saki) with me. Read what he has to say and see photos of his restaurant below.

The small restaurant packs big flavor
Ballantyne got a new sake and raw sushi bar over the weekend. Prime Fish is owned and led by Chef Robin Anthony, who previously worked as head sushi chef at YAMA Waverly and Red Sake. Anthony said he opened the restaurant with the mission of introducing an elevated level of sushi to the Charlotte area.

Pedcor Investments seeks rezoning for workforce apartments, medical offices in Lancaster County [Huguley/Charlotte Business Journal]. An out-of-state developer is eyeing a site in Lancaster County for a new mixed-use project. Indiana-based Pedcor Investments is proposing 216 workforce apartments and two medical office buildings at 9425 Charlotte Highway, which is just south of Indian Land.
Here’s how far three decades of federal road money for Rock Hill, Fort Mill area goes [Marks/The Herald]. There’s a plan in place for how to spend the next three decades worth of federal transportation money in eastern York County. The Rock Hill-Fort Mill Area Transportation Study recently updated its 2050 long-range plan. Included are urbanized areas of eastern York County, from Rock Hill to Fort Mill, Tega Cay, and Lake Wylie, plus Indian Land in Lancaster County. The plan covers everything from roads to sidewalks, mass transit, and aviation.
