The Lancaster News sold to Paxton Media Group

Breaking news - Paxton Media Group (PMG) announced this week the purchase of Landmark Community Newspapers, which owns The Lancaster News and Carolina Gateway.
Landmark Community Newspapers is a Kentucky-based publisher. They have 41 paid newspapers in 10 states, 7 free newspapers and shoppers, 8 offset commercial printing plants, seven collegiate sports publications, and 13 special publications such as real estate guides and home magazines. The Lancaster News has been owned by the Landmark Community Newspapers for the past 32 years.

We appreciate Landmark choosing us to be the new stewards of these important community assets.”
PMG is interested in acquiring newspapers as part of its strategy given the conditions and nature of the newspaper industry. PMG will take over operations on June 8th.
