Happy Monday! We are coming at you a day early this week due to the election tomorrow. If you haven’t voted already, please go out and vote tomorrow! South Carolina residents can find voting information here, and North Carolina residents can find voting information here.
For our features this week, we checked out the impressive new Indian Land YMCA and have put together photo tour for you. As of this morning, they had almost reached their first 500 members. We also have details for you on last Thursday’s school board meeting. In the meeting, the Lancaster County School Board released survey results and announced their plan to up in-person school days from 2 days to 4.

Lancaster County School Board makes plans for returning to school 4 days a week
Survey results are in and a plan has been made for students to return to 4 day face-to-face instruction.
In early October, the Lancaster County School Board sent a survey to parents and employees about the potential return to school 4 days a week. The survey asked how comfortable parents and employees were with moving to face-to-face instruction 4 to 5 days a week with plexiglass installed in classrooms. Continental Tire to expand American headquarters in Lancaster County, creating jobs [Huguley/Charlotte Business Journal]. The announcement unveils the company that is behind the project previously known under the codename "Project Dumpling" in county documents. It calls for 200 new jobs and $20 million in investment.
Carowinds to reopen for a special holiday event [WCNC]. Carowinds will reopen for the holiday season with a brand new event. Carowinds Taste of the Season: An Outdoor Holiday Experience will feature dozens of sweet treats and savory snacks as well as live shows, rides, and festivities throughout the park. The amusement park announced Wednesday the new event will run select dates from November 21 through December 20 and advance reservations are required.

Sun City Strong! will be virtual this year [Carolina Gateway]. Sun City Strong! is an organization whose mission is to raise funds for the South Carolina Alzheimer’s Association. Instead of their annual Walk and mini-festival, they will host a raffle for a seven-night stay at Island Links resort in Hilton Head next April. The runner-up wins a Rolls Royce limo ride to and from the Pump House restaurant and a $200 gift card to spend on drinks and dinner.
