The New York Butcher Shoppe and Wine Bar opens in Bridgemill Commons

After months of delay due to COVID-19, the shop finally opened its doors on Saturday.

Located in Bridgemill Commons off U.S. 521, The New York Butcher Shoppe and Wine Bar offers beef, pork, chicken, lamb, and veal selections, as well as grab-and-go prepared meals, wine, and local beer. “We make dinner super easy,” said co-owner Antonio Tillery. “We are a one-stop-shop.”

Tillery formerly served as executive chef and regional director of Maggiano’s Little Italy. He now co-owns The New York Butcher Shoppe and Wine Bar with business partner Brian Miller. The two worked together at Maggiano’s Little Italy when Miller worked as general manager and managing partner.

“Charlotte has a need for this,” said Tillery. “I’ve been in Charlotte for 17 years, and to someone who has a culinary background, there are not many sources of quality meat and proteins in the city.”

The shop is just under 3,000 square feet and includes the butcher shop, prepared foods, grocery, a wine bar, and space for patio and indoor dining.

The New York Butcher Shoppe and Wine Bar offers a small menu curated by Executive Chef Abner Arita. Guests also have the option of having their selected steak or fish prepared and served with a large side.

The shop is part of a chain that includes 14 locations in five states. Indian Land is the second location for Tillery and Miller. The two opened their first location in Dilworth just over a year ago. They have expanded upon the chain by adding a wine bar, on-premise dining, and catering services.

“We have a pretty aggressive plan to get into a bunch of neighborhoods,” said Tillery. “We chose Indian Land because this is a fast-growing market. It’s just going crazy, and we are excited to be here.”

The partners have plans to open additional locations in Lake Norman, Matthews, and South Charlotte.

Offerings

Beef selections: Porterhouse, ribeye, freshly ground sirloin/filet, New York strip, filet mignon, bacon wrapped filet, flank steak, beef brisket, filet tail, and handmade hamburger patties

Pork selections: Baby back ribs, center-cut pork chops, pork tenderloin, and bacon wrapped tenderloin

Chicken selections: All-natural whole chicken, all-natural, boneless, skinless breasts

Veal & Lamb selections: Veal chops, veal cutlets, lamb tenderloin, bacon wrapped lamb tenderloin, lamb loin, and leg of lamb

The grab-and-go prepared dishes include a selection of main dishes, such as chicken parmesan, lasagna, and meatloaf, as well as popular side dishes. Guests may also order from a selection of soups, salads, and desserts.
