The Indian Land Fall Festival will take place April 17-18
April 14, 2021 | Wilson
The Indian Land Fall Festival returns this weekend after being postponed last fall due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The award-winning festival will take place Saturday, April 17, and Sunday, April 18th. The festival promises to be two days full of food, live music, supporting local businesses, and fun.
"The last year has been challenging to all and we are excited to have our 2020 makeup events this weekend,” shared Mike Neese, Indian Land Fall Festival chair. The theme will be “Fall into Spring” and will focus on showcasing the Indian Land and Lancaster County community.
Neese is also the chair and co-founder of The Carolinas Chili Championship which will kick off the festival on Friday, April 16th. While separate, the two events complement each other and allow for a full weekend of entertainment. Both events will be anchored by live music and will take place at the McClancy Corporate Headquarters off of Hwy 521.
“This year we will probably have over one thousand different individuals participating in some form as a sponsor, vendor, or volunteer,” said Neese. “This is exciting as we bring some many together to promote our great community."
The Carolinas Chili Championship
The Carolinas Chili Championship has grown into one of the largest annual chili competitions on the east coast with winners automatically qualifying for next year's world championships. “This year we have many local groups cooking as well as cooks coming in from eight other states outside of the Carolinas,” said Neese. “We have several former ICS World Champions participating including the reigning World Champion. Having one of the country's largest spice makers here makes Indian Land a perfect location for this event."
Enjoy live music by local artists, Unknown Artist Band starting at 6 p.m. and Decarlo at 8 p.m.
When: Friday, April 16. Doors open at 3 p.m. and tasting begins at 5 p.m.
Cost: Event is ticketed, $10 at the gate and includes a tasting kit and voting tokens.
