Chris Cannon founded Fuse Prints in 2014 shortly after he and his wife Kellie moved to Indian Land. Chris had worked for a large printing company in Charlotte and after learning the ins and outs of the business, he decided to start his own home-based company.
What the business does
Large format printing and engraving. They offer signs, banners, decals, trade show displays, laser engraving, graphics, magnets, decals/stickers, wall wraps/murals, photography backdrops, posters, and vehicle graphics. They also offer items for the home including canvas prints, enlarged photos, cutting boards, kids’ room decor, graduation signs, and more.
The business is conducted in the family’s garage and shed using laser engravers, a heat press, laminator, vinyl cutter, latex printer, and carpenter equipment for the woodwork.
How the business got started
While working for the large printing company, Chris realized there was a lot of business being left behind. “Because of the overhead that comes from having a storefront, we couldn’t accept any jobs that were under $100,” Chris explained. “There were quite a few of those.”
Chris has an associate’s degree in graphic design and has been in the sign industry for 12 years. He saw the potential for a smaller, home-based business that offered fair pricing and would accept the big and the small jobs.
A family affair
Chris’ wife Kellie has a marketing background and helps with both the company’s marketing efforts and with product research for the Etsy shop. They have two young daughters that love to help out in the shop when they can. “Every day is like art class for them,” laughed Chris.
The Etsy Shop
Fuse Prints opened the Etsy Shop as an extension of the business in 2015. Chris shared that the shop just reached its first thousand sales and is starting to pick up momentum. The shop sells a variety of products including personalized holiday ornaments, face masks, cutting boards, frames, photography backdrops, and more.
Why use Fuse Prints?
“Everything is custom-made and personalized,” explained Chris. Customers can expect free delivery, a quick turnaround, and fair prices. Bonus, they offer eco-friendly printing.
