New salon and spa is designed to impress

Sabina Hair & Spa in Indian Land rents salon chairs to local beauty professionals

Farrah Mangiaracina and her husband Jay are the owners behind the new Sabina Hair & Spa located in Bridgemill Commons. The concept, which opened in September, rents out salon chairs to local beauty professionals. 

“Opening a brand new business during a pandemic is huge and scary,” said Farrah. “But I’ve always been the type of person who believes everything will be ok and will work out with hard work, positivity, and prayers.” 

Farrah started out cutting hair for friends and family when she was just 14. After renting booth space in Charlotte for 16 years, Farrah wanted to open her own salon. She did just that and even put her name on it. Sabina is Farrah’s middle name.

“As a female entrepreneur, I hope to be an inspiration to all women to step out of your comfort zone and follow your dreams. Take the risk!” said Farrah.

Services:
The salon features a variety of stylists who offer cuts, styles, and color. They also have specialized stylists who provide services including Deva Curls and Ouidad® for curly hair, hair extensions, up-dos, and makeup. Sabina plans to offer massages and facials soon. 

Hours:
Tuesday - Thursday from 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. and Friday - Saturday from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. Closed Sunday and Monday.

Design:
The space is pretty large at 2,400 square feet. There are 21 salon chairs (which were made in Italy), a wash and dry station with Halo dryers (designed to rapidly dry hair while retaining moisture and reducing frizz) and there are also two small spa rooms. 

The interior was decorated by DD Luxe Design with the vision of bringing the outdoors in. The blue floor is marbleized to look like water and is bordered by a line of rocks. The main room features a live edge wood slab custom made by Patrick Rowland of Rowland Woodwork and Sawmill, which serves as a salon station.

Interested in joining the team?
Salon chairs are currently available for rent to licensed hair professionals. Sabina Hair & Spa is also seeking a massage therapist and an esthetician to rent the two private rooms.
