Located at 2816 WorldReach Drive, the new Indian Land YMCA finally opened its doors Friday. The building is 70,000 square feet and anchors the new Cross Ridge Business Park. It features an indoor heated pool, cardio and weight training, elevated walking track, full gymnasium, fitness area, separate women’s training room, cycle room, locker rooms (with saunas), community room, yoga and Pilates studio, room for group exercises, space for ChildWatch and a teen room.
Outside features lighted ball fields, a covered area if you choose to workout outside, and space for a future outdoor water park.

Moe Bell, CEO of Upper Palmetto YMCA expects this branch to be the largest in the area with 15,000 members within the next two years. The Baxter Village branch is the largest with 14,000 members.
Safety Protocols
The Indian Land YMCA does have safety protocols in place due to COVID-19. Class sizes will be limited, they plan to sanitize the facility often, hand sanitizing stations are set up throughout the facility, and they have set up the fitness areas to skip every other machine. Participants must sign a waiver liability.
ChildWatch
ChildWatch is available from 8 a.m. - noon Mon-Sat. and from 4-8 p.m. Mon-Thurs. After school will begin in 2021.
Membership
Membership fees range from $30/month for a child to $85/month for 2 adults and dependents. The first 500 new members will get a free T-shirt and their joining fees will be waived. Financial assistance is available.
