Happy Thursday Indian Land and surrounding! I hope you enjoying this hot summer. Luckily we have two new ice cream spots to help cool you off. Read all about it below.
We did a social post earlier this week with some updated renderings of The Exchange and found that there were a lot of people who weren’t aware of the project. We have a lot of new subscribers - and a lot more residents since we first mentioned the land sale so we thought we would do a summary and provide some updates on the upcoming major mixed-use developments. See the article below. No, there are no current plans for new schools and yes, there are plans for updating infrastructure i.e. widening roads and adding traffic lights.
In a recent Lancaster Council meeting it was mentioned that York County was considering a moratorium on residential construction (meaning they would temporarily stop developing). If that happens, it will make Indian Land even more of a hot spot. Rock Hill did this end of 2021 for 6 months. The intent allows staff time to review and potentially change any new development standards that steer growth of the city.
Lancaster County’s UDO (Unified Development Ordinance) is still being updated in tandem with updating the County’s Comprehensive Plan. If you are interested, you can read all about that here.
