Last week, brokerage firm The Providence Group, listed the former Salsarita’s space in Cross Creek Shopping Center off U.S. Highway 521 as available for lease.
The Tex-Mex restaurant closed quietly in mid-August after being open since 2014. Salsarita’s director of marketing, Kelly O’Dell said the restaurant closed permanently due to struggles related to COVID-19.
The listing of Salsarita’s former space includes future site plans for the area of land between Cross Creek Shopping Center and the new Cross Ridge Business Park, which includes the Indian Land YMCA. This land, as well as the Cross Creek Shopping Center, is owned by the York Development Group.
The wedge of land seen in white above is named Cross Creek Phase 2, and is its own active listing. Cross Creek Phase 2 boasts up to 40,000 square feet of available land for future retail/office/medical/mixed-use development. Cutting through the land will be a new road extension connecting the Indian Land YMCA to the Cross Creek Shopping Center.
York Development Group’s Development Associate, McLean Dar shared the preliminary site plans for the development. Dar explained that the group does not have a timeline for the project as it is an investment property.
“We are excited to be part of growing Indian Land, and when the time is right, hope to capitalize on everything going on around us for Cross Creek Phase 2,” said Dar.
The former Salsarita’s listing claims that Publix, the shopping center’s anchor, is the highest producing Publix in the Charlotte region.
Area demographics are also included in the listing.
