We Need Bus Drivers In Indian Land
July 22, 2021 | Wilson
Tuesday morning, the Lancaster County School District Safety & Transportation approved the recommendation to designate the Indian Land Area as a critical need area for bus drivers.
The Indian Land area currently has 8 of 20 positions vacant. “We feel to make it economically feasible to retain employees and recruit against the private sector that we needed a special incentive for Indian Land,” said Safety & Transportation Director Bryan Vaughn. “Because of Indian Land’s location, job market, cost of living and proximity to other school districts we needed more tools to fill these very important positions.”
The county is offering:
$1000 New Employee Bonus
$2500.00 Additional Critical Needs Pay if for driving in Indian Land
Pay reaching $21.50 per hour in addition to the bonuses above contingent upon experience, education, and related background
State Medical Insurance, Dental, and sick leave.
Great work environment with the fulfillment of supporting kids in the quest for quality education.
“While recruiting and training good drivers will not occur overnight it gives us great momentum for the future,” said Vaughn. “I truly believe this will help us and most importantly, help kids and families.”
