Great Wagon Road Distilling quietly opens in Waxhaw

Early in December, the Charlotte-based distilling company opened its second location in Waxhaw. Great Wagon Road Distilling Co. (GWR) was founded in 2013 by Ollie Mulligan and features a variety of whiskey brands as well as vodka and gin.
Located in the former Bike Depot, GWR Waxhaw is open for bottle sales and merchandise. They have plans to open a Cocktail Bar Lounge and Event Space soon. Follow them on Instagram at @gwrxwx for upcoming cocktail classes and tastings.
Fun Fact: The first Sunday they were opened was the first Sunday a bottle of liquor was sold in Waxhaw in over a hundred years.
