Del Webb Library in Indian Land opened its doors last Monday with reduced capacity and hours after being closed this time last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The library was already scheduled to be closed for 6 months last year for scheduled reconstruction. After multiple delays including problems obtaining materials, the $8.2 million upgrade project is now complete.
Hours:
The library is open from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Capacity:
For now, the library is limited to 35 at a time. You will check-in upon entering.
What is new?
The library added a large meeting room that can be divided into two separate rooms or become one big room. There is also a dedicated room for networking. In the back of the library, there are now three group study rooms, two small, and one large.
New seating areas, furniture, and bookshelves. Also new, a dedicated area for self-checkout!
Expect to see:
A lot of smiling faces from book lovers who haven’t been able to visit the library in one year.
New look:
Curious if you have books checked out from last year?
When the library first closed, they closed the book return as well. You can now return those books and will have any charges removed from your account.
